Hybrid IT vs Hybrid Cloud – What’s the difference

If you are someone who is highly interested in the IT community or you work in the IT community then you must have come across the words Hybrid IT and Hybrid Cloud. Now although they sound very similar one might think that they are one of the same things. But that’s not true at all they are both very different from each other but they still do share some kind of similarity.

So, what are the similarities that they share?

  1. Both Hybrid IT as well as Hybrid Cloud involve cloud computing while functioning and along with that, they also use many different geographical disbursements that are provided by the IT service and their resources.
  2. Both of the hybrids that are the IT and the Cloud aim to reduce the cost and also improve the flexibility and the agility of companies and businesses in today’s time.
  3. The Both Hybrid IT as well as Hybrid Cloud is an innovative approach towards IT. And along with being innovative both of them are also really easy for people who know how to work these platforms. And these strategies are adopted widely by hybrid app development companies.
  4. Bot of these strategies helps the companies to reduce their cost of expense. They are effective as well as cost-efficient at the same time, which encourages many more companies and enterprises to opt for either Hybrid IT or Hybrid Cloud.

However, you have to keep in mind that even though they do share all these similarities they are not the same thing at all.

So, what exactly is a Hybrid Cloud?

While the fact is true that hybrid Cloud is a façade of hybrid IT, but they are still not entirely similar. The Hybrid cloud is a kind of cloud distribution structure that has to have at the very least two different geographical locations. How it works is usually it has a private cloud that is further linked with either one or more public clouds to send information to. Now, this link of one private cloud along with one or multiple other public clouds then works in unison with each other to send digital service, data, and applications to the users who are accessing it through the public cloud. And all the users are then managed by a common management system by the main IT team.

One very good example of a Hybrid cloud that clearly explains how it actually works is cloud bursting. In this many additional servers are linked with the already existing public cloud when there is a very big number of users and even when there is suddenly a lot of demand.

The hybrid cloud not only provides a lot of flexibility but is also self-provisioning and can handle multiple numbers of users when they are in demand. Even when they provide to so many users at once they still have full control over the management of data and application. One could say that it is the best of both worlds because it not only manages to handle so many users at once but it also can maintain the quality of the work and is also flexible at the same time. And because of this reason many hybrid app development companies have incorporated hybrid cloud in their enterprises, but then again not all companies are ready to use hybrid cloud and that is why we have hybrid IT.

But what exactly is Hybrid IT?

The main objective of hybrid IT is to provide the typically desperate world of IT with a variety of tools whenever they need it, and for that purpose, it creates a cloud-like structure that can provide the tools whenever necessary. And one thing to keep in mind is that hybrid IT is not about only one technology it is a combination of strategy, blueprint along with a very specific approach. And that strategy specifically is to attain similar and identical service capabilities just like a cloud for the entire organization, it does not matter if it is a traditional in-house data centre technology or it is a public or even private cloud service. It just aims to provide the data and tools whenever required and at the same time keep it sable and identical for every user using it at the same time.

So, the main motive of hybrid IT is all about one IT organization their one vision as well as their one all-encompassing goal and not about just one technology or even one location. It solely focuses on the IT organization that has incorporated Hybrid IT in their enterprise and helps them by managing the workload with ease so that none of the users faces any problem even when they are using the hybrid IT all at the same time. And along with easing the workload it is also very flexible across the entire organization or enterprise hence once again making sure that every user receives the tools they require, whenever they require it. And additionally, it also delivers physical compute, storage as well as network fabric resources as a service.
